The nautical charts – all depictions have the characteristic of being a cape that slopes “linearly” outward to the north. However, a shallow head protrudes – I have bitterly experienced this with my sailboat. The “head” can be seen on satellite and aerial photos. The head is located about 36 meters directly north from the shore. I estimate the depth to be about 1.8 meters. It is possible to pass on both sides of this treacherous shallow with depths of 4-5 meters. It should be added that this is a standard route between Bulland Marina and, for example, Sandhamn.
I would like you to name this shallow “Westerholm’s Shallow” if I may wish. 😉
