Naturdyk – Diger huvud

The bottom descends almost vertically from the surface down to 30 meters. It then slopes steeply down an additional approximately 30 meters. It is said that there are many wrecks, many of which remain unexplored, on the seabed; however, due to the depth, Nitrox/Trimix is required for exploration. There is a very good chance of visibility exceeding 30 meters. This is a drop-off dive. Rocky beach.

There are many boulders (raukar) on the beach.

By car:

From Visby, take Lummelundsväg north towards Fårösund. Take the ferry to Fårö. There are signs directing you to “Lauter”; just before reaching Lauter, there is a small road on the right, marked “Diger huvud”. Drive in and continue until you reach the third parking area on the left side. The journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the wait for the ferry and other traffic. You will need to carry your equipment approximately 100 meters from the parking area down the slope to the water.

Diger huvud is located in a nature reserve. Parking is only permitted in designated parking areas. During the summer, there can be a very long queue for the ferry to Fårö.
