Princess is currently resting west of the 3.2-meter shoal east of Östergarnsholme.
The easiest way to get here is by boat from Herrvik. There is a good slipway in Herrvik. To get to Herrvik, take road 143 from Visby towards Roma, continue towards Östergarn and Herrvik.
Princess, which was a sailing ship converted to a steamer with a home port in Hull, ran aground where she rests today on July 23, 1888. She was on the shoal one day before she was broken up and sank. She was 1212 gross tons, built in 1869 in Hull and the skipper was James Webb.
When she sank, she was on her way to London loaded with 15,000 barrels of oats.
Today, a 40-meter-long pile of boards remains to be seen of the ship, which was about 75 meters long and 10 meters wide.
