Some believe that this is the finest dive site in Sweden.
Enter at the small cove and swim out along the left edge. The slope descends steeply, reaching depths of over 40 meters quite rapidly.
The advantage of diving at K-cove is primarily its tranquility. Due to the absence of a nearby parking lot, there tends to be fewer people, allowing for a more private experience with your belongings. Otherwise, the dive meets all expectations of Diger!
Visibility is often excellent (20-40 meters in optimal conditions). There is an abundance of large fish, and it is rumored that a seal or two has been spotted.
By car:
Drive from Visby towards Fårö. Continue straight after the ferry across Fårösund. Turn left towards “Lauter”. Follow this road to Digerhuvud. Proceed until you pass a “färist” (a barrier for sheep). Drive past the first parking area on the left. After passing a grove, when the area opens up, stop and walk down to the water where you can see the cove. Unload your gear and carry it down the small path that winds down to the beach.
If you reach the fishing village, you have gone a bit too far. It takes about 7-8 minutes to walk from the parking area to K-cove.
After unloading, return to the last parking area and park before walking back.
Expect a travel time of 70-90 minutes from Visby, depending on ferry queues, etc.
Things to consider:
Diving at K-cove requires that at least the driver is willing to walk the distance from the parking area to the dive site. Unfortunately, this must also be done on the return trip.
The entire area is a nature reserve. No off-road driving, no littering, no open fires, and please take all trash with you. There are dry toilets and trash bins available at the parking area.
